Walk-ins are welcome! Meet Mr. Lowrider Fever, dance to music from our DJ, check out a fleet of lowriders and view the photography of artist Checka.
We welcome youth, families, and the community to learn about the Chicano tradition of lowriding with Mr. Lowrider Fever, Ricardo Cortez, author of The ABCs of Lowriding. Ricardo will share the inspiration for his art and his book and will explore lowriding culture from the 1940s until today.
Everyone is invited to appreciate the local community’s lowrider cars and bicycles in the library parking lot. Experience their incredible hydraulics, sound systems and custom paint jobs up close!
Special guests from the local art and lowriding community will also take part in the workshop as facilitators. This event is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Skyline Hills Library and Library Foundation SD.
