Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a special One Book, One San Diego event just for kids in grades 3–6!  We’ll be exploring the 2025 children’s selection, The Interpreter by Olivia Abtahi—a heartfelt and funny story about Cecilia, a girl who loves soccer and also serves as her family’s interpreter.  After we read the story, stick around to make a themed craft!  Using colorful paper strips, participants will weave English words together with their Spanish translations.  This project blends creativity with storytelling, celebrates bilingualism, and gives each child a unique artwork to take home.

Registration for this event in encouraged, as supplies are limited.
