In this fun and interactive class, students in grades 3-6 will learn the fundamentals of programming using Scratch, a beginner-friendly, block-based coding platform. Designed for young learners with little to no coding experience, this class introduces key programming concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and events through hands-on projects and engaging challenges.
This free program is presented by high school students passionate about STEM education through Project NexTech, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (ProjectNexTech.org). This course encourages creativity and problem-solving as students build their own animations, games, and interactive stories. By the end of the session, participants will have a strong foundation in coding logic and the confidence to continue exploring programming on their own or with more advanced Project NexTech courses!
