Join us at the Point Loma/Hervey Library for a day of learning "How-To" do various things presented by community members. Attend one presentation, or stay all day, you're sure to leave with a new skill or story!

11:00 am | How To Glam Up in 10 Minutes — Age 50+

Presenter: Penny Hazzard | A Make Up “How To” demonstrating quick & easy make up techniques tailored to ladies 50 and over. Older Adults.  (45 mins)

11:00 am | How To Do Chinese Calligraphy for Everyone

Presenter: Kristen Mulvihill | An introduction to the materials and resources for learning Chinese calligraphy, with a chance to use supplies provided to write a Chinese character. All Ages.  (45 mins)

12:00 pm | How To Make a Greeting Card Journal

Presenter: Bettina Davis | Recycle a greeting card to make a small journal or notebook using a simple book-binding technique. All Ages. (45 mins)

12:00 pm | How To Make a Beautiful Wreath using Recycled Book Pages

Presenter: Alma Reyes | A demonstration how to fold book pages into a cone shape and layering the pages to make a wreath. Ages 8 and older. (45 mins)

1:00 pm | How To Make Hand Printed Cards Using Potatoes

Presenter: Amber Myers | Using cookie cutters or your original drawings, we will cut potatoes into stamps to be used to print greeting cards and paper. Examples of using the potatoes to print custom fabrics will also be shown. All Ages. (45 mins)

1:00 pm | How To Make a Graduation Ribbon Lei

Presenter: Remedios Villacruz | Looping 2 ribbons together to create a lei for graduation. Final touch will be adding an origami money flower (Bring your own money). Young adults and older. (45 mins)

2:00 pm | How To Make Oreo Truffles

Presenter: Amelia Sotelo | Learn how to make this fun and easy sweet treat with only 3 ingredients! All Ages. (45 mins)
