At this installment of Ethnic Studies at the Library we invite community members to learn about historic oppression and systemic racism and share their lived experiences for personal and community empowerment.

Elevating California Indian Studies is essential, enriching curricula and fostering cultural respect. Prioritizing placed-based Indigenous perspectives is foundational for inclusive, equitable education.

Joely Proudfit (Payómkawichum and Tongva) is Professor and Department Chair of the American Indian Studies Department at CSU San Marcos and Director of the California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center (CICSC)
