Event Details

mozAIrt is excited to provide the community an opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI). At a time when AI and machine learning are changing the very fabric of society and transforming entire industries, it is more important than ever to give every student the opportunity to not only learn how these technologies work but also to think critically about the ethical and societal impacts of AI. Explore and discover a whole new world of Artificial Intelligence in a variety of ways. Get an introduction to AI, view examples, and participate in an interactive activity.

What you will need to participate: access to the internet, a computer or laptop, and an email address. A zoom link will be provided to you at least 24 prior to the class.

Separate registration is required for each class. There are two opportunities to attend each session in case you missed one.

Session 1 - Intro to AI

Learn about Artificial intelligence from its basics and explore how it can be applied in the world around us through interactive activities.

Session 2 - Simple AI + Facial Recognition

Learn how computers can be trained to recognize faces and make your own video face filter AI program in Scratch!

Session 3 - Simple AI + Handwriting Recognition

Teach a computer to recognize handwriting, learn how computers can be trained to recognize handwriting and learn how “optical character recognition” is used to automate tasks like recognizing postcodes on letters!
