Program Description

Event Details

This 6-week class is designed for students in grades 3 through 8 with little or no prior coding experience. Students will learn how to program in Java, a language that can be used to make applications, Web sites, or even games. The class takes students to proficiency in basic Java, starting with the basics in the first couple of days, and then moving to a personalized project in the final couple of days. Many engaging interactive activities and projects on the way, such as programming a calculator or a simple game, will allow students to develop their skills, all free of charge. The class will be taught by high school students who are well-versed in Java, many of whom have completed the AP Computer Science A course at school.
