Crux

Crossing Borders in Search of a Father

Join KPBS journalist Jean Guerrero and Los Angeles Times reporter Richard Marosi for a stimulating conversation about her PEN-award-winning book, Crux: A Cross-Border Memoir, and the most important 2018 U.S.-Mexico border stories, from family separations to the Trump administration's response to the caravan. Crux is about Guerrero's quest to understand her charismatic and troubled Mexican father, who crosses borders between countries, between madness and sanity, and more. Jean Guerrero is an Emmy-winning investigative border and immigration reporter for KPBS in San Diego.  She contributes to NPR, PBS, PRI’s The World and other public media.  She has been recognized by the San Diego Press Club and the Society for Professional Journalists.

Richard Marosi is a two-Time Pulitzer Prize finalist whose investigative reporting on Mexico's most vulnerable populations has led to improved conditions for them on both sides of the border.
