Event Details
In this Star Mountain workshop designed for families, participants will:
- Learn about Walt Disney and his journey from liking cartoons to running a business empire
- Design, modify, and apply critical-thinking skills to effectively and efficiently solve problems
- Design and construct a Star Mountain rollercoaster around a frame (furniture)
- Explore potential energy and kinetic energy
- Understand that moving objects lose energy due to friction
- Evaluate the effectiveness of a solution and make adjustments as needed
- Learn about the physics of roller coasters through hands on activities
Important notes: Space is limited; online registration is required. All participants must be age 3 years or older. You may sign up a maximum of 5 family members per registration, with at least one adult in each family's registration. If your family is larger than 5 members, sign up the additional family members in a separate registration.
Participants agree to follow all relevant City of San Diego COVID protocols.
