Join us for a special one-day summer workshop and learn how to create a unique poem of your own!

Poems will be published in the 2017 Kids! San Diego Poetry Annual. Students and family will also be invited to attend a free annual reading in December to celebrate the poets.

All writing materials and a snack will be provided. Workshop is for students ages 7-12.

Presenter Seretta Martin, author of Foreign Dust Familiar Rain and Overtaking Glass (forthcoming), is the managing editor of the San Diego Poetry Annual and founding co-editor of Synesthesia Literary Journal. She is a Philip Levine Prize and Washington Prize semi-finalist. Her publishing credits include Serving House Journal, Web Del Sol, Poetry International, Margie, Modern Haiku, A Year in Ink and San Diego Poetry Annual. She teaches poetry at California Poets in the Schools, The Border Voices Poetry Project and San Diego Writer’s Ink Spot,. She has hosted the New Alchemy Poetry Series for 17 years. Seretta holds an MFA in Creative Writing from SDSU.  (border voices.com,  cpits.org,  sandiegowriters.org
