SDPL honors San Diego writers who published books in 2021!

This is the 56th year of the Local Author Exhibit and the second year under the CDC guidelines of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nearly 200 books, including 2 ebooks were produced in 2021.

The online component of the exhibit from the 2021 Showcase event is currently on view and offers additional information about the authors and their works.  Subjects range into biography, law, business, fiction, poetry, immigrant stories, cooking, self-help, military themes, local history. The books are on display for public viewing through March 2022 and will be available for check-out in April.

A virtual reception was held on Friday, January 28 to launch the Exhibit. Library Director Misty Jones welcomed the authors and guests and award winning local author and Friends of the Central Library board member Zohreh Ghahremani provided an inspirational keynote speech. Afterwards Zohreh and Director Misty Jones kicked off the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Local Author Exhibit highlights the creative accomplishments of writers in the San Diego region and shines exposure on local talent.  Some authors are well known nationally and internationally. Others are new to the publishing world. Stop by and visit the exhibit and check-out the previous year's books while you are there.
