Meet your librarians! -Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 at 10am.
Join us for coffee and pastries as you meet with Uyen Tran, Manager and Shampree Fritz, Youth Services Librarian to share your thoughts on how our library is doing. Chat with us about your favorite books, let us know what programs you would like to see at the library, and ask about the different resources we have to offer.
Both Uyen and Shampree started working at City Heights/Weingart Branch Library in June 2021. Since then, they’ve:
• Allocated branch funding for adult and YA Express Books.
• Reopened the library for in person service.
• Partners with various organizations to provide about 50 free programs, events, and public meetings a month.
• Library programs include homework help 6 days a week, weekly storytime, weekly teen events, weekly computer classes, monthly community distribution, bimonthly music concert, weekly science club, monthly cooking classes, monthly adult craft classes, and occasional special events.
Their goals for this year:
o Allocate more funding Express books to give our users quicker access to new releases and popular titles.
o Offer more programs such as music classes, violin classes, and guitar classes for free starting in April and December.
o Parenting classes, baby story time, and gardening workshops
o Renovate our building – new flooring and an early literacy learning hub for families and caregivers.
o More adult and senior programs!
