Program Description

Event Details

Here we discuss the best true crime books.  While the stories can be gruesome and the characters repulsive, the stories entertain and often promote considerations of sociological and psychological perspectives.  We will discuss the narratives and the storytelling.  We meet via Zoom on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  This month's selection is "A Murder in Hollywood".  On an infamous night in 1958 movie star Lana Turner attempted to break it off with Johnny but he predictably turned violent and Cheryl tried to protect her mother with a knife, killing him. The subsequent murder trial made for the biggest headlines of the year, its drama eclipsing every Hollywood movie.  A very limited number of copies are available at SDPL.  Keep in mind SDCL and Link+.   Reach out to me if you need help procuring a copy.
