Enjoy a performance and learn about South Indian classical music with local musician Devesh Vashishtha and Naveen Basavanhally.

South Indian classical vocalist Devesh Vashishtha has performed concerts in the U.S., Canada, and India. He and his accompanist Naveen Basavanhally (on mridangam) will present an interactive lecture-demonstration on the history of South Indian classical (Carnatic) music and provide an overview of its intricate melodic and rhythmic patterns and multiple improvisational forms.
