Event Details

A region known for the conservation of the indigenous, colonial, and post colonial heritages, music from Southeast Asia will highlight rare to familiar genres of music. From gong ensembles to improvisatory singing, this unit focuses on music from diverse communities of practice. Divided between land and sea Southeast Asian music reflects the landscape and belief systems of the people.
