Program Description

Event Details

The City of San Diego was profoundly changed by World War II.  Balboa Park was rapidly transformed into a Navy training base and San Diego became a hub for military activity in the Pacific.  The population nearly doubled between 1940 and 1943, when 1,500 people a week moved to San Diego and entire new neighborhoods, such as Linda Vista, grew up.  Join us to learn about this pivotal moment in San Diego's history!  This multimedia presentation is free and open to the public, and there is no need to pre-register.
