Program Description

Event Details

Death Café provides a safe, agenda-free place to discuss death and life over a cup of tea and tasty treats.  It is not a grief therapy group.  It is a gathering of friendly and interesting people discussing death, dying and living.

Death and dying are key issues in the 2019 One Book, One San Diego selection The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai. The Great Believers is a historical novel about the terrors and tragedies of the AIDS epidemic and its repercussions, through a story about friendship and redemption in the face of tragedy and loss, set in 1980s Chicago and contemporary Paris. It won the Stonewall Book Award, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and was optioned by Amy Poehler for television.

To RSVP please email Lynne at lcalkins@endoflifechoicesca.org, “Death Café in the subject line.  Please give the full name of each person attending. Death Cafés have been wait-listed in the past, so RSVP is advised.
