Join us in the Community Room to read and discuss the 2022 One Book, One San Diego Selection for Kids, "We Are Water Protectors," by Carole Lindstrom, illustrated by Michaela Goade, the winner of the 2021 Caldecott Medal contains moving illustrations and an "Earth Steward and Water Protector Pledge" we can all take together. There will be a related craft. 

KPBS book description: Written in response to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, “We Are Water Protectors” tells the story of an Ojibwe girl who fights against an oil pipeline in an effort to protect the water supply of her people. This vibrant picture book is inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America. It issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption.
