Antoni Szostak

Central Library- 2nd Floor Display

March 28 – May 7, 2023

Antoni Szostak is an artist born and raised in San Diego, whose practice involves visual art, poetry (free verse prose), and philosophy, rejecting any associations to monetary value in place of personal and spiritual relationships. Antoni would like to share his unusual viewpoint of material understanding, relational possibilities, and tactile sensibility to the public. Antoni has received an Associates of Arts in fine arts at Alpena Community College before studying at College for Creative Studies in Detroit for two years, although Antoni believes that you don’t need to attend formal art schools to have valid and original ideas. Antoni states that his practice has been moving more and more from visual idioms to textual and formal philosophic expression, although the combination relates to a full expression in a life that uses both language and visual understanding.
