NANO-What does NANO Mean for Us?, & New Science

June 13– August 2, 2024

The Fleet Science Center is a county-wide organization with a mission to realize a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science. We are excited to connect with learners where they live, work and play by partnering with community organizations, including libraries, youth spaces, community hubs, etc. that have interest and space in hosting exhibits and interactives from the Fleet Science Center.

Nano is an interactive exhibition that engages family audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. Hands-on exhibits present the basics of nanoscience and engineering, introduce some real world applications, and explore the societal and ethical implications of this new technology.

New Science seeks to connect with intersectional Queer and non-binary communities by elevating the stories of STEM professionals from both these communities and the San Diego County region. By doing so, New Science hopes to create a more inviting and inspiring space for Queer, Trans, and non-binary BIPOC youth and young adults who might be interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
