NANO-What Happens When Things Get Smaller, Inventors and Innovators, & Bone Density

October 16, 2024– January 24, 2025

The Fleet Science Center is a county-wide organization with a mission to realize a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science. We are excited to connect with learners where they live, work and play by partnering with community organizations, including libraries, youth spaces, community hubs, etc. that have interest and space in hosting exhibits and interactives from the Fleet Science Center.

Nano is an interactive exhibition that engages family audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. Hands-on exhibits present the basics of nanoscience and engineering, introduce some real world applications, and explore the societal and ethical implications of this new technology.

Inventors & Innovators highlights immigrants, women, and innovators or inventors representing communities of Color who have contributed to improving and advancing technologies useful to our day to day. Their technological innovations range from everyday objects like the pen, aerospace engineering inspired toys like the super soaker, or historic innovations like the Mark 1 computer.

With Bone Density, explore how stress, age and other factors affect bone structure over a lifetime.
