New Science
April 3– May 31, 2024
The Fleet Science Center is a county-wide organization with a mission to realize a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science. We are excited to connect with learners where they live, work and play by partnering with community organizations, including libraries, youth spaces, community hubs, etc. that have interest and space in hosting exhibits and interactives from the Fleet Science Center.
New Science is an exhibit that seeks to connect with intersectional Queer and non-binary communities by elevating the stories of STEM professionals in these communities, including some voices from the San Diego County region. New Science aims to magnify who feels welcome in library spaces while creating a more inviting and inspiring space for Queer, Trans, and non-binary BIPOC youth and young adults who might be interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through representation.
