"The General's Newspaper," explores the history of the pioneering binational publication that bridged cultures and communities across Southern California and Northern Baja California. This exhibition showcases a curated selection of ephemera from the newspaper's archives, highlighting its role in shaping regional narratives during its circulation.
Over a span of two decades, armed with thoughtful coverage, as well as eye-grabbing headlines and photography, General Hernando Limón Hernández ("The General") shaped the outlet to not only be a local news source, but a widely circulating community staple. At its peak, in October of 1932, the paper averaged 25,000 daily readers.
