Palm Frond Zoo

November 12, 2024- January 31, 2025

A Ukrainian-born, Jewish refugee who arrived in San Diego as a child, Jane Muschenetz deeply appreciates the bridge art, such as painting and poetry, offers across barriers of language, class, and culture.

In this exhibition, Muschenetz uses recycled materials and palm frond bark that sheds during San Diego's windy storms to make her vivid animal mask art works. Paired with whimsical animal poems, Jane hopes to bring something bright, joyful, and unexpected to brighten the day and capture the imagination
