Why do we feel compelled to exaggerate our successes and withhold our failures? Why are school rooms, chat rooms, board rooms, cocktail parties, and water cooler places where we often puff and sometimes completely misrepresent ourselves? Does telling the truth free us from our fears, perhaps drawing us closer together?  "The Paradise, Lies We Tell" is a fictional novel but the characters feel real. Our lives are very different from each other yet opportunities to help each become more authentic do present themselves.
