Celebrate Black History Month by engaging with a local poet's reflections on the Great Migration.
Seeing With New Eyes: A Poetry Reading Celebrating the Great Migration of African American People features local author Dr. Mary F. Lenox sharing poems from her latest book, Seeing the Sacred in the Ordinary, which relate to the historic Great Migration of African Americans.
Mary writes powerful poems of love, memory, light, and hope inspired by nature, divine imagination, and the vicissitudes of life. Her thought-provoking poems inspire, inform, and deepen one's gratitude for life while discovering the healing balm of poetry.
Selections from Mary F. Lenox's poetry relating to the Great Migration will also be on view during the month of February in the glass display case which faces the PB Library's Cass Street Plaza.
