Calling all budding poets!

Denny Sanford Children's Library is hosting a special Poetry Workshop for Kids in collaboration with our friends at Write Out Loud.

This workshop is designed to be an exploratory brainstorming opportunity for participants to explore multiple poetic forms and elements through their own lived experience. Participants will read and discuss an assortment of 3 – 5 short poems that focus on both form and content, such as haiku, sense poems, imagist poems, free-form, etc. A Teaching Artist will guide writing exercises where the participants will write their own poem in the same style or genre.

After the workshop, don't forget to participate in this year's Let Your Voice Be Heard Poetry event.  All poetry submissions will be featured in a digital copy of Let Your Voice Be Heard Magazine, and select poems will be presented at a live event in Spring 2023.  For more information and submission guidelines please visit the Let Your Voice Be Heard website.
