Program Description

Event Details

Native Americans have lived in this area for at least 12,000 years as determined by archaeologic evidence.  They thrived using their skills in resource management and spiritual direction.  We do not believe that they had a written language, but they left us hundreds of paintings which connote spiritual communications that played a leading role in their villages and society.  These ancient messages have been buffeted by the harsh desert landscape over the centuries.  Recent technology has allowed us to resurrect these paintings so that anyone can appreciate them for the first time in recorded history.   Dr. Don Liponi will explain how these messages still speak to each one us providing a pathway to the other world.  Science has determined that the Shaman who painted them, not only attained the Spiritual world, but were able to influence external events by doing so.  You will find the lecture intriguing to your own spiritual journey and find the beautiful artwork a pleasure unto itself.  Books will be available for $25 each.  Dr. Liponi would be happy to inscribe them for you.  This supports their continued work.

Don Liponi, a retired chemist, was introduced to the desert by his father as a boy over 50 years ago.  He has been part of desert dwelling Native Americans, archaeologists and other scientist collaborators for nearly 10 years in Southern California.  The results of this work are in two books, La Rumorosa Rock Art Along the Border Volume 1 [2016] and Volume 2 [2019].  Don lives in San Diego with his wife who is also a writer.
