Program Description

Event Details

During Banned Books Week 2023 (October 1-7), we invite you to celebrate your freedom to read by helping to assemble a jigsaw puzzle that features books which have been challenged or banned from libraries.

Puzzles will be available to assemble at a table in the PB Library's lobby.  We'll start by assembling a 1000 piece "Banned Books" puzzle, displaying the covers of books that have been challenged or banned.  If it is completed before week's end, you can help with completing a 500 piece "Bibliophile Diverse Spines" puzzle, with titles showing on the spines of a range of diverse books.  Sadly, many of these diverse titles have also been challenged or banned from libraries over the years.

As you assemble the puzzle, we invite you to also celebrate your fREADom by adding some of these titles to your own personal reading list.
