Remember Us The Holocaust is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting and preserving the legacy of Holocaust survivors. The RUTH exhibit highlights the stories of Holocaust survivors who are currently living in San Diego County, as well as showcasing important Holocaust artifacts and World War II memorabilia. Upon entering the exhibit, visitors will have the opportunity to meet and learn about local survivors. Many actively engage with students, military personnel, and various organizations to share their unique survival stories. These individuals embody resilience, gratitude, and an unwavering hope that such atrocities will never be repeated. The exhibit features a collection of original World War II and Holocaust memorabilia, all of which have been generously donated. RUTH is committed to continuing the collection and preservation of these crucial historical artifacts for future generations. This project is funded by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of San Diego.
The opening reception will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm.
A RUTH team member will be at the exhibit each Tuesday from 12-2:30pm to answer questions and provide guided tours.
You can also schedule an individual, school, or organization tour by contacting exhibit curator Sandra Scheller at rememberustheholocaust@gmail.com or at 619-422-3429.
A monthly series of speakers will also be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the library's Community Room.
