Program Description

Event Details

Safa's Story is a culturally responsive play that uses live music, storytelling and spoken word to get to know Safa- a Zimbabwean-American 5th grader who over the course of the show is isolated for being different than her peers. Safa's Story is a play for children and families and was designed to create dialogue about diversity and acceptance. The show is a rare type of interactive performance, called Forum Theatre, that empowers children to stand up for themselves and their peers in the midst of bullying and discrimination.
