Recognized for his masterful treatment of paint and use of light and shadow, Johannes Vermeer was one of the great painters of the Dutch Golden Age. Though he mostly painted domestic interior scenes, the simplicity of his subject matter only magnified the beauty of his technique. This lecture will examine one of his most renowned works, Girl with a Pearl Earring, in addition to the other 33 works universally attributed to him today.
Presented by Julia Fister
