We LIFE-CYCLES to LIFE during this 40-minute interactive presentation. With collaborators at Butterfly Farms, several San Diego Public Libraries and friends of LXS- we bring tadpoles, frogs, beetles, mantis, and more. We teach how everything alive has a life cycle and how those life cycles are connected. Seeds to Plants / Babies to Adults / Eggs to Butterflies. We discover how scientists explore, discover, journal and share information to better understand our planet. We observe differences to compare and contrast, for example between chrysalis and cocoons. Did you know YOU are VIVA VIVIPAROUS? – You start off your life cycle ready to eat, drink and breathe oxygen? We bring OVIPAROUS live butterfly eggs to view on the LCD screen microscope and determine what kind of caterpillar is in it by the clue of what kind of leaf it is on. LXS allows all of the students to come up close and explore. We encourage students to explore, discover, and observe anything they find with a life cycle. Draw it, write about it, find out more and send your favorite entry to LXS to collect SD KIDS EXPLORED AND DISCOVERED project.
Stay Curious and KEEP ON SCIENCE-ING!
