Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate the freedom to read at this special Sketch Night!  Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in libraries, bookstores, and schools. By focusing on efforts to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship. In this class, learn how to draw Harry Potter and find out why the book series has frequently been challenged.

Teens and tweens ages 10-18 are invited to join Sketch Night!  This free virtual drawing program is run by the San Diego County Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with staff from the Carmel Mountain Ranch, Central, and City Heights libraries.  Registration and prerequisites are required.

Contact Juan Carlos Robles at 619-541-5188 or JuanCarlos.Robles@sdcounty.ca.gov to sign up. Please give him your name, age, phone number or email.

This class is taught on Zoom.
