Storyteller Dr. Paul Erickson will share his mother’s memories of riding on the Orphan Train from New York to Missouri in 1901, at the age of four, in search of a new family. For 75 years, between 1854 and 1929, about 250,000 orphans were moved from New York City by train to live with families in the mid-West and West. Dr. Erickson is both a historian and educator. Join us to hear about this little known piece of American history from this charismatic nonagenarian.
