Storybox Theatre returns to the San Ysdiro Library, for our 1st IN-PERSON program this month!! FREE for Children Preschool - 6th grade and their families!

Join us and our special storyteller, Walter Ritter from Write Out Loud, on Tuesday, August 24th at 6pm in the Lloyd de Llamas Community Room as he presents the illustrated stories of Storybox Theatre!

Storybox is the American name we have given to the Japanese storytelling tradition called kamishibai. (Kami = paper; shibai = theatre). A storyteller stands behind a little wooden theatre and reveals a series of illustrations as he narrates a story, doing all the characters’ voices and the many sound effects.
