Learn how she generates fresh, fascinating themes; writes using spare text, rhyming verses and exposition; and paints vibrant, detailed illustrations to engage young readers. Susan Stockdale is the author and illustrator of many children’s picture books that illuminate fascinating themes in the natural world. Her books, such as Bring On the Birds, Stripes of All Types, and Fabulous Fishes, have earned top honors including the American Library Association Notable Picture Book and the National Council of Teachers of English Notable Children’s Book in the Language Arts. Her distinctive artwork and engaging text win praise.
