Program Description

Event Details

Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), the Austrian symbolist, is most widely known for his paintings, murals and as a founder of the Vienna Secession movement. While his best-known works are gilded art nouveau portraits of women such as the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, he also painted many memorable landscapes that challenged conventional styles. Klimt was influenced by Chinese and Byzantine visual art. Presented by Aniko Makranczy, MFA
