Writing “Fu”: Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Workshop

This free 90-minute traditional Chinese calligraphy workshop introduces participants to writing the character “福” (Fu), a traditional symbol associated with good fortune and blessings during the Lunar New Year. Participants will learn basic brush techniques, explore the cultural meaning of Fu, and create their own artwork to take home. No prior experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

This program is designed for youth ages 6–16. Parent or guardian support is appreciated for children ages 6–7, as traditional ink materials will be used. Space is limited to 15 participants, and registration is required. A Photo & Video Release Form will be provided and completed on-site at check-in.

Presented by Heritage Youth Bridge Alliance (HYBA), a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional cultural heritage.
