I'M NOT ALONE - a film by Victor De La Fuente
In the heart of a bustling city, a gay young Mexican man battles the isolation of his inner world. As he moves through his daily routine—navigating work, empty apartments, and the hum of city life during the holiday season—he is confronted by the growing weight of loneliness and the pursuit of love. The film unfolds as a self-portrait, blending raw moments of introspection with expressive song and dance. These performative sequences serve as windows into his inner turmoil, where vulnerability and strength collide. In this absurd, self-expressive world, he finally begins to embrace the contradictions of his existence. Alone, yes—but not empty. Wildly, unapologetically himself.
He is both the villain and the hero of his own narrative. Ultimately, the film becomes a journey of finding solace in the beauty of self-expression and the quiet understanding that, even in solitude, we are never truly alone.
