Art reception August 16, 3-5pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Major Morris (1921-2016) held his first “major” photo exhibition in San Diego in 1997, in the then-new Pacific Beach/Earl & Birdie Taylor Library, which had opened earlier that year. Reflecting/Revisiting features pieces selected by Major Morris’s wife, Anne-Grethe, and represents a “homecoming” to Pacific Beach for his art.

This exhibition is divided into three groupings of his interests: Children’s curiosity and yearning for exploration and learning, Social injustice, and Interactions with both well-known and aspiring jazz musicians. Viewers are urged to consider what has really changed during the 50-60 years since these photos were taken, and even in the 28 years since some of these images were last shown in Pacific Beach.
