The Villa Musica Summer Orchestra is a high caliber community ensemble that comes together during the summer months to perform great works from chamber and symphonic literature. The ensemble unites musicians from a variety of community and semi-professional orchestras to spread the joy of music to the San Diego community through free concerts at local libraries. Our members, who come from a variety of professional backgrounds including music, education, engineering, and medicine, share a passion for music, giving VMSO a unique vibrant and energetic sound.
This year the ensemble will perform:
- Kurt Weill - Little Threepenny Music (suite from "Threepenny Opera")
- Dvorak - Serenade for Wind Instruments, Op. 44
- Badelt - Pirates of the Caribbean
