Girl Scouts of San Diego will present a special workshop at Balboa Library. The workshop will focus on the

One Book for Kids selection, My Beautiful Birds by Suzanne Del Rizzo.

Behind Sami, the Syrian skyline is full of smoke. The boy follows his family and all his neighbours in a long line, as they trudge through the sands and hills to escape the bombs that have destroyed their homes. But all Sami can think of are his pet pigeons--will they escape too? The first half of the program will be reading the book to the attendees and the second half will be a craft based on the book. This event is open to the public and the first 50 kids will receive a free copy of the book! They can sign up at   www.kpbs.org/girlscouts.  Join us for a terrific time!
