Winter Reading Challenge - January 2026: Every Picture Tells a Story
 
We invite readers of all ages to explore the hidden worlds within art, where each image whispers a tale and every page opens a doorway to imagination. Through reading and creative activities, participants are encouraged to uncover the quiet magic that lives behind art.

Readers of all ages will receive prizes for reading or completing activities!
 
Sign-up online or in-person at any San Diego Public Library location starting 1/1/26
(Online only on 1/1 - libraries closed for New Year's Day holiday)

Program runs January 1 - January 31.
  • Complete any combination of 5 Every Picture Tells a Story activities, reading hours, or books read to earn your prizes! 
 
 

Youth (ages 0-11) will receive:

  • One Achievement Ribbon
  • One pass to the Museum of Us

Teens (ages 12+) will receive:

  • Free 5pc Boneless Wings coupon from Wingstop
  • One pass to the Museum of Us

Adults (ages 18+) will receive:

  • Free 5pc Boneless Wings coupon from Wingstop
  • One pass to the Museum of Us
  • One pass to the Mingei International Museum

Prizes will be available for pickup from January 6 – February 10, while supplies last! Participants may only receive one prize set for their age level and cannot redeem prizes at multiple locations. To view library locations and hours, click here.

  • Baby/Toddler Drawing Prizes (ages 0-5): Toddler Art Kit

Grand prize drawing winners will be notified in early February. Prizes may vary by branch location and are available while supplies last!
