In the 1970s Gloria Steinem and fellow equal rights activists were fighting for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, while conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly was leading the charge against it.  Back in southern California, United Farmworker’s Dolores Huerta a key labor organizer, and Gracia Molina de Pick, a political activist, were simultaneously fighting the inherent sexism of the movement. Join Rita Sanchez and Sonia Lopez, authors of “Chicana Tributes,” and Anne Hoiberg, president of the Women’s Museum for a stimulating discussion on women, feminism and the struggles for social justice in the 1970s.
