Program Description

Event Details

Connect with your community through art and a great book! You will receive a kit including a copy of Ghost by Jason Reynolds, a Reading Guide with activities to enhance your understanding and appreciation of the book, and supplies to create your own Identity Circle art project. Circles will be added to a community art exhibit called Concentric Community later in the summer. After finishing the book and completing your project, join Christy our Youth Services Librarian and other readers for a Zoom discussion of the book, whatever activities you have completed from the guide, and your inspiration for your Identity Circle.

Kits are available for pickup at the Rancho Bernardo Library any time during our open hours Monday-Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm (closed 1-2pm for cleaning), either inside the library or using our Contactless Pickup Service (call 858-538-8163 to arrange).

Zoom link will be sent in a reminder email closer to the discussion date. If you have any questions, email Christy at the address listed here.

All materials provided by Words Alive, in partnership with ArtReach. More information on the Art & Lit program can be found here: https://www.wordsalive.org/art-lit-2021-community
