Join us for a stimulating book talk with author Wanjiru Warama and her book Years of Shame, in which she discusses true stories of women marginalization, including female genital mutilation, immigrants’ cultural challenges, relationships, real estate, and shows the parallelism between Kenyan and American prejudices.

Ms. Warama is the author of a series of well-received memoirs charting her life and experiences in the U.S. She was born and raised in colonial Kenya, and educated in both Kenya and the US. She’s a lifetime member of the Friends of San Diego Public Library,  the current president of the Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset, and a member of San Diego Writers & Editors Guild among various community leadership roles and support.

Copies of Years of Shame and other titles by Ms. Warama will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
