Description of Event
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hr public education program offered FREE to residents in San Diego County to NORMALIZE mental illness. Mental Health America of San Diego County offers FREE Mental Health First Aid trainings' that introduces participants to risk factors, warning signs and symptoms of specific types of mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia; builds understanding of their impact, and teaches a five step action plan to support someone developing an emotional crisis. One out of ten adults and one out of five youth are impacted by a serious mental disorder.
