SDPL honors San Diego writers who published books in 2019!

The 54th year of the Local Author Exhibit produced one of the largest turnouts ever with over 300 authors and co-authors furnishing over 270 book titles including 10 in e-book format published in 2020 and reflecting the diversity of San Diego’s population and equally diverse scope of interests.

The Exhibit’s online component offers additional information about the authors and their works.  Subjects range into biography, law, business, fiction, poetry, immigrant stories, cooking, self-help, military themes, local history, and books by children and teen authors, etc.  The books are on display for public viewing through February 2020 and will be available for check-out in March.

A preview reception was held at the Central Library on Friday, January 31 to launch the Exhibit.  Library Director Misty Jones welcomed more than 400 guests to the reception.  Writer, teacher and San Diego Writers, Ink, founder Judy Reeves was the keynote speaker.  The Friends of San Diego Central Library which sponsors the annual Exhibit were on hand to congratulate the authors.

The Local Author Exhibit highlights the creative accomplishments of writers in the San Diego region and shines exposure on local talent.  Some authors are well known nationally and internationally. Others are new to the publishing world.
