Description of Event
Unión del Barrio - a grassroots organization that has organized around issues that directly affect working class communities since 1981 will be having a public forum to address several issues that currently affect the 8th district and its residents.
In light of the upcoming elections for the 8th district council seat this fall November 2018, one of the main objectives of the forum is to open up a space and allow community residents to discuss the issues that are most important to our community and develop ways in which we can address them. Some of the issues that will be discussed will be; Affordable housing, migra-free zones, union jobs with livable wage, and a clean and healthy environment. An invitation will be made to the candidates running for the 8th district so they can attend and hear first hand from the communities they want to represent for the next four years.
